Setup the Optoma TW610ST

1. Remove the projector case from the FedEx box it was shipped in.
2. Take out the projector, power cord, VGA cord, projector remote, instructions and batteries and set everything on a table or desk.
3. Decide where you will be viewing your video/slide-show/etc.
4. Place the projector on a flat surface, and aim the front of it toward a white wall or projection screen (insert link to our screen rentals page)
5. Remove the projector lens cap
6. Unwind the power chord and plug the female end into the rear of the projector, bottom left corner, and plug the male end into the closest electrical socket in the wall/light fixture/etc.
7. Power on the projector.
8. After it warms up (should take from 5-10 minutes) be sure to adjust the front legs so it rests at the correct height on the wall/projection screen.
9. Then adjust the zoom function, which is on top of the projector. Move it left or right depending on if you wish to zoom in or out.
10. Lastly, rotate the lens itself (make sure the lens cap has been removed) left and right to change the focus of the projector. Go back and forth with it until you reached a clear picture.
11. Now you're ready to connect your Optoma TW610ST Short Throw to a computer or a laptop.

Connect Optoma TW610ST Short Throw to computer/laptop:
1. Follow steps 1-6 from the setup instructions above.
2. Before you turn on the projector, unwind the VGA cord and plug one end into the projector slot VGA1-IN, located on the rear of the projector, 4 places from the left.
3. Plug the other end into your computer or laptop into the VGA output slot. Depending on the model of your computer or laptop, it will be in different places. On laptops, it should be located along the base of either the left or right side. On computers, it should be on the rear of the tower, right next to or below the other VGA cord that operates your computer's monitor.
4. An alternative to step 3 is to connect an HDMI connector into the second left most port when viewing the rear of the projector and plug the other end into your computer/laptop. (Note: We do not provide an HDMI connector, so you will have to use our VGA connector if you do not own your own HDMI one)
5. Once everything is connected, be sure the computer/laptop is turned on first, then power up the projector. (Note: We suggest the computer/laptop is powered on before the projector, so the Optoma TW610ST Short Throw will auto-detect the computer/laptop once it powers up. This avoids step 6)
6. If auto-detect doesn't recognize the computer/laptop right away, then be sure everything's connected, and read the following instructions.
a) For a computer, go to start->search and type in “connect to a projector.” You will then be given the option of using the computer only, duplicate, extend or projector only. Select what you will need and then proceed.
b) For a laptop, depending on the model, there should be an F key at the top of the keyboard that has a little projector icon on it. After you press it, you will then be given the option of using the computer only, duplicate, extend or projector only. If you are having difficulty finding the F key that performs this function, then go to start->search and type in “connect to a projector.” And then you can select your option from there.
7. After your Optoma TW610ST Short Throw has been successfully hooked up to a computer or laptop, you are now ready to connect it to additional audio if your event requires it.

Connect Optoma TW610ST Short Throw to audio:
1. After you have gone through the above steps to setup your Optoma TW610ST Short Throw to a computer/laptop, then you are ready to add audio assistance to your projector, if your event calls for it.
2. Make sure the Mackie portable PA system's power cord is plugged in – female side in the Mackie itself and male version in closest power outlet. Then make sure it is secured on a table or stand.
3. Now you're ready to connect the Optoma TW610ST Short Throw to the Mackie SRM150 portable PA sound system.
4. Be sure to take the line from the Mackie and insert it into the rear of the projector, slot Audio1-IN, the second last port from the right. And be sure the other end is plugged into the rear of the Mackie on the right side, labeled as Main In.
5. Power up the Mackie speaker system and you will be ready to go. Adjust the main knob to control the volume of everything, and adjust the individual knobs above each of the other inputs numbered 1, 2, 3 respectively. Also, on the right side of the Mackie front there are 3 equalizer knobs that allow you to control the HI, MID and LOW.
